Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) often referred to by her professional surname Ari Lennox is an American music producer and performer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. She released her first EP with the label on October 21 of 2016, entitled Pho, and she began gaining recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading songs online in the year 2012 after she dropped her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. Ari Lennox continued to upload her music on the internet in 2014 and released her own single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes, at Sweat It out on 21 July 2015. In the following year, her music circulated around the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some possible references for Rihanna. Her contract was signed officially with Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat is a track that she performed with Cozz to record the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. In the month of October she dropped her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and also performed as the opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she appeared as a guest artist on two songs, with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas' Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018. A music video was launched in September. On the 9th of November she released two additional singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November, she released 13 two brand new singles, titled One and Pedigree. One and pedigree. She appeared with Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby in the 16th of November, and released the song as a solo single for her debut album. The 20th of February, 2019 she released a music video released for the song. The track has received more than three million views on YouTube during its initial week. In December of 2018 she took part in her From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
